America Ferrera
America Georgine Ferrera, an American actor and TV star that became a household name with the hit series "Ugly Betty" was born in the United States of America. From the time she was in school Ferrera was interested with the field of acting. She was a stage performer in school productions and her first film "Real Women have Curves," which made her famous. While her performance in "The Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants' gained her more recognition as well, she received critical acclaim for portraying the protagonist in the tv series "Ugly Betty and won her a number of Best Actress Awards, including the Golden Globe Award, the Screen Actors Guild Award, as well as the Primetime Emmy Award. Congresswoman Hilda L. Solis is highly praised for acting as a "role-model" for young Hispanic females in the field of entertainment. Ferrera was dubbed as one of the top 100 influential individuals in the world in 2007 by Time magazine. Ferrera is a vocal advocate as well as a strong supporter of the Save the Children campaign.
